There are two ways to use google to get directions for your trip.
Google Maps @ http://maps.google.com/ Is the easiest and can be done on any computer with access to the internet. BTW this is all for free.
Open your favourite Web Browser, log onto the Internet (if you have to) Type in the Web Address above and you should be @ Google Maps. Click on the Directions Button and enter the From and To Locations, always followed by New Zealand, IE Hamilton New Zealand, as there are about 20 odd Hamitons' in the world! To capture the directions, you can Print them, Go File Save as so they are on your computer or Press Print Screen and Open in your favourite graphics program and Save As a Graphic. You could then save the graphic to your MP4 Player and have on hand on your travels.
The other option is Google Earth @ http://earth.google.com/
Were you download some software and then run that software to get directions
Open Google Earth, Click on the Directions Button (top left)., Type in the From and To locations using wherever New Zealand format. Press Search and now you have a detailed map giving you directions.
Again
this can be printed, stored on computer or transferred to your MP4
Player.
Google Earth will work on dial up, if you have plenty of patience, but is better on fast internet (broadband)
Another option is @ http://www.smaps.co.nz/
BTW
I can do all this and do not even use Windows, I use Linux Kubuntu,
but that is another story.
Have
Fun!
