And alas, it has been a long journey from the depths of the late 90s but we have arrived at what would seem to be the current state of JLG Ltd. Design for the time being. Compositions from this day have been very independent and original searching to find more and more depth within each picture and creating eye-opening designs that really grab your eyes.
Photoshop is still the norm in the design world and it will likely continue this way. I must say I've learned a great deal about the program and as only a freelance once-in-a-while designer I will learn a lot more with it. Right now, though, I'm happy with the designs I can create and whenever I need something new, I'll turn to the archives of images I have created for images and inspiration, along with the thousands of other, more talented, photoshop users out there on the internet.

Ah, one of my finest 8 hour creations. This is, without a doubt, my favorite design. I set out to create something very modern and techy with a good crazy abstract backdrop that was my own creation. The result was pretty much exactly that. The texting, the lines, and the detail all flow excellently here to make this a flashy, gimicky, yet visually fun design.

This is what happens when I get lazy and change colors using only a layer color blend. But hey, it's Christmas, who can critique anything for Christmas? (With the exception of Christmas sweaters of course).

This guy was going to be the center piece of the website you see now. Unfortunately, do to resolution limits and my hesitance to create a website that catered to all resolutions perfecltly, I opted for this simple layout instead. This design, however, still was a great looking abstract. The smoke and tentacle like lines work really well over black.

Maybe I'll my own pictures of Dayton like these in some time but for now all I can take credit for is arranging the pictures and adding the text and design. The Gem city text and flighty lines that accompany it, though, are still pretty well done elements. This poster could probably sell a few dollars but alas, only the composition is my work.

This is just a fun little logo created in image of the United States Postal service. It was for a entry in one of my blogs but I liiked it enough to feature it here.

Scanlines scanlines scanlines. I'm a sucker for em. This is an avatar created for my postings at the University of Dayton Men's Basketball forums. It's a composition of the arena in the background, Brian Roberts in the foreground, and a double image of my handle "Jonji" as the typography. All in all it was a pretty nice blending of a few images and text.

I don't exacltly remember why, but I was thinking what it would be like if every dorm at Denison had its own logo. This is the second one that came out, a tribute to the Tudor style Beta House on North Quad. It's a simple design using just a few colors and some shapes, but it actually flows pretty well.

Continuing with randomly creating logos for the dorms at Denison, this was the one I came up with for my First-Year residence. The design I liked because, during my infinite sketching time I do in boring classes, I discovered the K and the Sigma created a neat little diamond if arranged right. I put them together and took the colors from the Kappa Sigma fraternity's logo. I'm colorblind, apparently, though, because after careful study a few months later, I saw that the blue I saw was actually green.
