Modern

After a long trial and error period of tinkering and prodding, I finally got to a more mature stage of design where creations and shapes came from my own designs instead of borrowed images. This really was the key transition in being able to use photoshop for more than simply a tool for mixing images but rather using the powerful pen, vector, and brush shapes for creating original images. By no means was I a photoshop guru in the 2005/2006 era but nonetheless my images became more pronounced and more in a stylistic form I have developed over the years.

While there are some bad apples in this mix, I was very happy with how my works turned out in this epoch. Most of the design changes from here on out are much more subtle as I become more and more entrenched in my styles.

What is it with me and clouds!? I mean, they are cool but someone needed to tell me to stop using them as a backdrop. The colors of this design were nice but someone should hit me if I ever use clouds and outlined text again.

I wish I could take credit for the tree, but I can't. I blended it into the picture, added the glow, the stars, and the text. What came out was a very special tribute to something that will always be with me. I can't really divulge about what that is, but I can say that the design and it's meaning make this one of my all-time favorites.

Hop diggity! I just love the colors in this picture. I'm still convinced Montgomery County stole this design in its new logo they are featuring on their water-towers. This signature was for my Flight Simulator days. KDAY is the ICAO code for Dayton International Airport and became my moniker in the game. It pretty much has all the common themes in my life: airplanes, the flag, and Dayton,

Monster Logo

A company I knew of was looking for a logo. I was sort of spitballing ideas and created this guy as a concept for them to bounce off of. The M was meant to sort of resemble a monster and it came out pretty well. Unfortunately, the owners were going for something less scary/jungly than what I had envisioned. Nonetheless, I still enjoy the design.

This is just the M logo of the above picture. I know, pretty scurry huh?

So for all those times I've submitted things to contests, I finally got a whole batch of things that were actually accepted and used! These are all logos for an online game that featured fictional airlines battling each other in a psuedo aviation CEO game. The Song and Californian Airlines were my favorite designs, but they all were well praised by the people who requested them and myself.

This is a pretty simple business logo that we had to make in a Digital Design class. It speaks for itself.

Trek Ad

This project tasked us with creating a full-page magazine ad for any product we wished. Personally, I think I should have sent this off to TREK to sell. The motion lines, the high-tech gray lines, and the only bit of color in the Trek logo really make this an effective design.

This guy was a design meant for the Curious Savage Play at school Simple and understated, I was happy with the the design and color.

Here's another idea for the play presented at school. This was designed to be the cover of the program. It's classy bordering and lines really compliment the bear and font quite well.

An initial logo for the site you are viewing now, this logo was okay but the website it was coupled with didn't quite turn out. I like the crystals in the background and the block text, it just never fit with the page.

This was just experimenting with creating a starfield. It turned out pretty nicely, although the canvas shape is a little strange.

Another JLG Ltd. logo here. The blue and orange was a new twist on my usual color pallete that worked nice. The swoosh gracefully slides through the text really giving good flow and shape to this design. It was used on the top of an earlier portfolio website.
