| Admit to God that you are a sinner. Each of us
has a problem the Bible calls sin. Sin is a refusal to acknowledge God's
authority over our lives. Everyone who does not live a life of perfect
obedience to God is guilty of sin. Romans 3:23 states, "For all have sinned
and come short of the glory of God." Since no one can be perfect, everyone
is a sinner. The result of sin is spiritual death (Romans 6:23), and spiritual
death means eternal separation from God. When you admit you are a sinner,
and want to turn away from sin, this is the first step to salvation. |
The second step is to believe in Jesus Christ as God's risen
Son, and receive Jesus's gift of forgiveness from all of your sins (past,
present, and future sins). Although we have done nothing to deserve this
wonderful gift, God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die in
our place. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His
only Son, that whoever believes on Him will not perish, but have everlasting
life." |
After you have received Jesus Christ into your life, share
your decision with another person.
"If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart
that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved." -Romans 10:9-10
